A glance back, then a Mighty Stride forward

Happy New Year! Battleshed Diaries is limbering up for another year of multifarious wargaming, ridiculously ambitious hobby projects and some serious Lead Mountain mining! And to help activate a movement roll from the passing distractions and indulgences of recent festivities, I’ve actually picked up a brush or two and splattered some paint near some miniatures. Good omens indeed! But first, a quick review of the past year and a look ahead to what I optimistically think will be filling my 2017 gaming calendar.

The wanderer returns

The Battleshed lights flicker on. The familiar aroma of paint, glue and that particular mustiness associated with sidestreet bookshops. Grimhag the resident spider has been busy the last few weeks. She must have had her spidery friends over for a party judging by the web festooned chariot racing construction site on the Battleshed table. Crunch. Bugger! Stepped on a miniature. Pulls it from the dust. Well, the infantryman can at least shoot around corners now!

Springing ahead

Time for a progress report. School holidays and family additions (I'm now an uncle!) have once again interrupted the gaming flow. I know, I know, it's something all us gamers have to put up with. The good news on the tabletop gaming front though is that I've only five sleeps to go until Salute 2016!

The Fighting Pit

Da da dah! I'm back. I've never really been away though. Just a wee blogging hiatus whilst I concentrated on a number of other interests and commitments that crop up from time to time. The gaming has continued as regular as ever. Just without any commentary.

Since the Prestonpans show I've played SAGA, Sails of Glory, Wings of War and produced a demo of Advanced Songs of Blades and Heroes at my local gaming club. Oh, and moaned a lot about my painting mountain.
