Tezert's dungeon – part two

Two competing bands of hardy adventurers led by Magi Bayaz and Enchanter Cornelius are still battling diabolical manifestations deep within an ancient dungeon, long lost amongst the vast ruins of Felstad. A small group of soldiers have discovered an unusually large, locked door. The thrum and tingle of magical energies emanate from heavily carved inscriptions etched into its blackened timbers. Strange, mournful sounds reverberate. What’s behind the door?

Tezert's dungeon – part one

After escaping a cultist infested cavern, the two bands of adventures scour the icy ruins of Felstad. They eventually pick up the trail once more, leading them to an ancient dungeon and the probable source of the recent powerful magical disturbances and supernatural phenomena...

Felstad down below

Magi Bayaz and his company are on the trail of a band of Cultists and a Minor Demon last seen near the Wizard’s Tower, calling out for the Frost Giant, Svanfus. When the Cultists discover the aftermath of the recent battle that took place there, they quickly withdraw into the ruins of Felstad. The Cultists are easily tracked though, their trail poorly disguised in their haste to get away. It leads to the entrance of a cavern on the side of a wooded hill…

The wanderer returns

The Battleshed lights flicker on. The familiar aroma of paint, glue and that particular mustiness associated with sidestreet bookshops. Grimhag the resident spider has been busy the last few weeks. She must have had her spidery friends over for a party judging by the web festooned chariot racing construction site on the Battleshed table. Crunch. Bugger! Stepped on a miniature. Pulls it from the dust. Well, the infantryman can at least shoot around corners now!  

The Diabolist's Scheme

 

Frostgrave has been inconspicuously worming its way into my gaming schedule over the last few months with a series of one-off games so it was time to stop mucking about and get on with a mini-campaign. After all, that's what Frostyfodder is all about.

Yesterday's Battleshed session saw two rival companies venturing into Felstad's ruined Merchant Quarter, upon rumours of unusual Imp and minor demon activity and reports of strange blue lights emanating from an ancient tower... 

The Complex Temple

Hard on his luck and desperate to stem the flow of misfortune mostly caused by his bane, the Necromancer, Magi Bayaz and his warband once again venture into the frigid ruins of Felstad. This time with a new face amongst his retinue.

Treacherous Treasure

Magi Bayaz and apprentice Jezal once again battle with their nemesis, the Necromancer, whilst treasure hunting in the vast ruins of Felstad. Time again for a spot of Frosty-fodder.

The Mausoleum's secrets

Another week, another treasure hunting expedition in the icy ruins of Felstad. 

The Necromancer is feeling rather ebullient after the recent defeat of his Elementalist rival. He's now confidently leading his apprentice and followers into one of his ancestor's ancient mausoleums, reputed to be hoarding all sorts of treasures. And quite possibly, the Undead.

Slaughter in Felstad

A suitably wintry trudge down the hill this week for the first visit of the year to Sam Pate's new gaming den for a game of Frostgrave. I was soon unfastening the fleece jacket in the cosy environs of Samshed II and admiring his elaborate walled town set-up, ready for our game.

Foray into Felstad

Frostgrave. There has been quite a buzz around this new fantasy skirmish system within our hobby, not least because it's supported by a tantalizing range of miniatures from Osprey Publishing and a North Star Military Figures. 

July review

End of month round-up. Which will be short, as available gaming time in July is typically limited for me due to being forced (!) to go on holidays and various summer events. Although, when I say 'summer' that only accounts for my overseas trips, as summer has been playing hide n' seek with Scotland this year!
